The
Gold Coast 56 TRI is the dream and sixth vessel of veteran multihull ocean
racer Joe Colpitt. Virgin Fire has proven capable of
sailing one and a half times wind speed in most conditions with just her
working sails. 
She climbs to windward at 80% of wind
speed effortlessly and consistently 'cleaned up' the fleet summer '97 in New
England. She is set up for serious long distance passage making the
ability to knock off the miles with great safety and comfort. Her
interior is simple, spacious, and functional with the structure to carry a
4,000 lb. payload. The design can be duplicated or modified at Gold
