GC65D - Spirit of Cayman

Spirit of Cayman shows the basic arrangement of the GC65 with its ability to carry 80 passengers or more and provide the amenities and systems required to service them. The 65-foot series were the first to be built exclusively of Core-Cell foam and E-glass unidirectional fiberglass using the latest in processes and engineering evaluations.

Variations on the basic 65’ theme are clearly seen in sister ships built from the same mold. Makani was the first GC65 and has demonstrated the highest level of sailing of any GCY catamaran. She has a carbon fiber super-structure, Southern Spar carbon wing mast and boom, PBO rigging, North 3DL sails and Mamba steering system. She is clearly the lightest and fastest GC65 to date. Cool Runnings and Kai Kanani with many custom additions and refinements followed. Last, and best, is Southern Star. Thanks to her owner Andy Evans, she is without a doubt the finest craft ever built at Gold Coast Yachts.
