SUNCAT 65 - Island Express

The SUNCAT 65 power cat, Island Express is based on the earlier successful Suncat models. This vessel will be more efficient than any vessel that you can find. Test it. 305 horse power per side allows a cruise speed of 24 knots while burning only 18 gallons an hour. Top speed is 27 knots. At 16 knots, fuel consumption is 8 gals. per hour. The secret? Long fine displacement hulls with ‘canoe’ sterns (therefore, double ended) which run pretty much dead level with no lift at all. Weight has been minimized and yes, there is some carbon fiber in the floor and other parts of the structure. The hulls and other components are e-glass/corecell foam and epoxy.
